UPDATE 2023: Billing for the new MJ Storm Water Utility Department will begin around April.

UPDATE 2022:
Public Works held a public work session in April to hear the results of the consultant’s study.
Public Works held a public work session to present their recommended Master Plan to the BOC in September.
The BOC approved the implementation of the Storm Water Department in November.

In Spring 2021, MJ Public Works held a Public Work Session for creating a SWU to create resources to combat flooding issues from storm water runoff. It was approved by the BOC in the 2021/2022 Budget, including hiring CDM Smith in Fall 2021 as a consulting firm to implement a plan for creating a SWU. On November 19^th, CDM Smith met with department heads to gather input to begin implementing a plan going forward, which basically would be in two phases. On Monday, April 25, 2022 at 5:15 pm, the BOC will hold a public work session to hear the results of the study. Public Work will bring a recommendation in a Master Plan to the BOC during the summer.
